Langham Named Superintendent of the Year
The School Superintendents of Alabama (SSA) and Classworks named Dr. Jeffery Langham, Elmore County Superintendent and member of the A+ Education Partnership Board of Directors, Alabama’s 2013 Superintendent of the Year.
“This honor is so much bigger than me,” he said in a Wetumpka Herald article published October 10th. “It puts a positive light on our school system and our county.”
-----He was selected from a statewide group of nine finalists and announced during the SSA’s Fall conference held in Florence, after all nominees’ applications and resumes were reviewed and a the finalists interviewed by a panel.
Dr. Langham will be recognized and receive a plaque during the February SSA Legislative Conference in Montgomery. He will also attend the AASA National Conference on Education Feb. 21-23, 2013, in Los Angeles, where he will be considered for the national award.
“I am humbled and honored by this,” said Langham, “and it should be shared with all the people I work with in the Elmore County School System every day.”
Under Dr. Langham's leadership, Elmore County is involved in all aspects of A+'s work; the Alabama Best Practices Center's Powerful Conversations Network, Key Leaders Network, Superintendents Network, and Instructional Parnters; and A+ College Ready's Advanced Placement program.
